“Iraq (MNN) — An Iraqi pastor has been kidnapped and will likely face death. Voice of the Martyrs, Canada
reports that the house church leader’s daughter recently witnessed her dad’s capture when men broke into their home. It’s believed that the pastor was targeted for leading many Muslims to Christ. Many fear that the militants who took the church leader will kill him. Pray for the pastor and his family, and pray that Iraqi believers wouldn’t stop preaching the Truth no matter what.

“The governor of Pakistan’s largest province was assassinated Tuesday following his support of a pardon for a Christian woman sentenced to death for blasphemy. Media reports are describing his death as the highest-profile killing of a Pakistani leader since Benazir Bhutto was killed three years ago.
One of the governor’s security guards told police he was angered by Salman Taseer’s support of the woman, according to the Washington Post.
In November Asia Bibi, a 45-year-old Christian mother of five, became the first woman ever sentenced to death under Pakistan’s blasphemy law. The police complaint against her said she called the Qur’an “fake,” and she made comments about one of Muhammad’s wives and his declining health late in life. Taseer had said that Pakistan’s president would pardon her.
“I was under huge pressure sure 2 cow down b4 rightest pressure on blasphemy. Refused. Even if I’m the last man standing,” Taseer wrote on Twitter on December 31.
The Associated Press reports that an elite force police commando said he was proud to have killed a blasphemer…”read the full article here
Pakistani Christians to Protest on Christmas Against Blasphemy Law
posted by admin @ 6:06 AM“Christians in Pakistan plan to rally on Christmas Day for the abolishment of the highly debated blasphemy law.
Many Christians have been arrested and imprisoned under the controversial law in order to settle personal disputes, but it is Christian mother Asia Bibi’s case that has drawn international attention from world leaders and numerous human rights groups.
Leaders from the All Christian Parties Conference will march from the Lahore Press Club to the Punjab Assembly Building, calling for a revision of legislation that they argue discriminates against the country’s minority groups.
Several Islamic parties, including the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) and JUI-F, have already declared intentions of nationwide strikes and rallies if a private bill in the national assembly of Pakistan, is discussed.
The bill, submitted by Pakistan Peoples Party member Sherry Rehman, calls for an end to the death penalty for blasphemy…”Continue>>>
